![]() SL has almost everything that you can imagine and if it doesn't, you could learn how to create and make it yourself. If you aren't able to do something that you would really like in person, there's probably a possibility that you can do it in SL instead. SL makes it feel like the connection you can get between multiple people is automatically more realistic and better when you compare it to IMVU, I'm not sure what it exactly is but communicating through IMVU was hard for me and if you look at peoples avatar it's just cloned from each other with slight changes which doesn't happen much on SL either because of the wide range of items in the shop. SL is now a new place for us to hang out and it honestly gives a nicer feeling and somewhat makes it feel more realistic and makes me feel like the company feels better since the graphics are much more realistic and u don't just stand there like a statue that only blinks either too much or too less than compared to the average person. My only friend got banned from IMVU for no reason and they mentioned SL a lot and had goals for SL to start a shop and create their own avatar from scratch. IMVU bores me and I heavily dislike how the people on IMVU are, most people I have met on IMVU are absolute assholes and have made me feel upset a lot. When most of the credits from every sale everywhere already had a credit sink tax to them anyway. Most of the best selling creators are now banned for whatever reason, and imvu just keeps 100% of their sales. The catalog is bloated and has an extremely poor search system for it, so anyone finding your goods is difficult. That is you didnt get paid in dev/promo tokens instead.Īnd if you are a new creator? Prepare to go broke as you pay constant walls of fees for a product that you have no idea is even going to see profit. The exchange for credits was as empty feeling as selling goods to a video game merchant, 10% of those creds you made have any value. Every few years, it becomes harder and harder to be a creator. However, what drove me away was dealing with the near criminal payouts IMVU has for creators. I was a creator for IMVU, i dabbled in both, and the limited nature of IMVU i actually saw as a plus back then. I know as Second life users it must be irritating ) ( I'm really sorry for mentioning IMVU here. What aspect of Second Life do you enjoy that IMVU doesn't have?Īny Second Life users who have never played IMVU can also give their views and opinions too! If you played IMVU before and you made the switch to Second Life permanently. What I mean by that is the Second Life community are passionate for what happens on Second life whereas the IMVU community couldn't care less how they're treated by IMVU.Īt this point I'm just ready to switch over to Second Life permanently Being an IMVU user the community on there is none existent. One thing I love about Second Life and I'm not even a part of it yet is the community. There are things I've read and learned about Second Life that interests me. For years I've been reading about Second Life and everything about it. I've been slowly learning about Second Life through Youtubers and the Second Life forums itself. I did go back to IMVU after playing around making an avatar for a few weeks on Second Life due to my Laptop having issues but when I get a desktop PC ( Which is hopefully soon ) I really want to make the switch to Second Life and move on from IMVU. I don't want to overwhelm myself when I haven't fully committed to Second Life. I do still need to improve the avatar itself but again I was just learning. Luckily enough their are some great content on YouTube that helped me ( Boston Blaisdale ). Which I did enjoy, Was frustrating but I did enjoy it. I practice making an avatar and all that. I know plenty of users who were members of IMVU then moved Second Life though as I much I understood why, I always wondered what kept them on Second Life. So I've been playing IMVU for about 10-11 years now, It was fun the first few years but to be honest the last few years it's has become drastically boring and the direction IMVU itself is going in is for the worst in my opinion.
